About
Juggling is the perfect physical metaphor for learning. It is simple to understand, yet counter-intuitive in it's execution, and fun enough to maintain interest in the challenge.
For optimal learning to occur, it is necessary to have an awareness of patterns that hinder progress and the means to change them. The method we use to teach people how to juggle encourages each individual to explore the mental and emotional patterns that impact their learning.
By facilitating specific types of group interactions, we create structures for effective communication. Participants learn how to make their individual thinking explicit and share it effectively with others. Through techniques of inquiry and reflection, participants learn to reframe their experience and begin to develop constructive habits. Through this specific, yet open ended process, we help increase understanding of how emotional and mental patterns interrupt learning. Deconstructing these patterns leads to more flexible thinking and productive behavior.
We usually integrate a performance with the workshop as a way to stimulate reactions, and help illustrate principles of collaboration.
